Melding real-time animation and generative electronic sound within the legacy of cybernetics and mathematic visualization, NoiseFold (Cory Metcalf and David Stout) celebrates the evolution of visual music as a form of instrumental play with semi-autonomous systems. The artists re-imagine a painterly abstraction to suggest elemental narratives that evoke highly charged emotional states. From subtle life-like emanations to roiling upheavals of sound and light the resulting audio-visual events are at once familiar, mysterious and strange.

Dr. Suriyadeo Tripathi is the Director of the National Institute for Child and Family Development at Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand. Dr. Tripathi will share some of his experiences working with community and tribal leaders in both urban and rural areas of Thailand in the quest to promote positive youth development.

The annual Raider Academy Awards recognizes students, staff, and faculty for their leadership and outstanding service they provide to the SOU community. The Raider Academy Awards Ceremony will be hosted by ASSOU President, Tyler Takeshita and RHA President, Nickeey Kahawai on Wednesday, May 31st at 4 p.m. in the Rogue River Room. Refreshments will be served.

With a long standing background in ballet and theater, Kea Seaman began voice lessons in Lake Oswego, OR at age 15. Since then, she has been largely focused on classical repertoire and musical theater. Her senior recital will include music all the way from Henry Purcell to the recent broadway hit "Hamilton." Join us June 3rd at 7:30 pm in the SOU Music Recital Hall for an evening filled with wonderful music.

Lavender Graduation offers an opportunity to recognize and honor the lives and achievements of our lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, trans, genderqueer, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQIA+) students. The ceremony provided a celebration of students' accomplishments and offers an official recognition of their work at SOU.
